ABOUT ME
What I love most about game audio is that it’s a perfect synthesis of left and right brained skills. In the morning, I’ll be working with programmers on how to increase the quality of our reverb or meticulously tweaking the details of our outsourcing pipeline. In the afternoon, I’ll be in the foley room with a bucket of yogurt and two heads of cabbage recording sounds to use in the creation of a monster that wants to eat your face. For me, both sides are different but essential ways of approaching game audio which allow me to create games that sound great years from now, not just today.
Growing these skills and contributing them to teams I’m leading is what I’ve done in my career of almost twenty years. I’m self-driven and always looking to build a better audio mouse-trap — then tear it down after we ship and rebuild it so it’s even better next time.
I’m currently the Audio Director at id.
