Audio Director
ABOUT ME
What I love most about game audio is that it’s a perfect synthesis of left and right brained skills. Before lunch, I’ll be brainstorming with programmers on how to substantially increase the quality of our reverb system or meticulously tweaking the details of our outsourcing pipeline. After lunch, I’ll be standing in a foley room with a bucket of yogurt and two heads of cabbage recording dozens of sounds that I intend to use for an enraged monster who wants to eat your face. For me, both sides are different but essential ways of approaching game audio that allow me to create games that will sound great years from now, not just tomorrow.
Growing these skills and contributing that growth to teams I’m working with is what I’ve done for sixteen years of my career. I’m self-driven and always looking to build a better audio mouse-trap — then tear it down after we ship and rebuild it so it’s even better next time.
I’m currently the Audio Director at id Software.
